Wobbly Club Race

Just under a month to go till the 2015 Wobbly Club Race! The Wobbly Club ‘T’ Shirt is now a much valued fashion symbol and worn with pride. The event offers teams made up of crew and local businesses an afternoon of fun and games with a happy smattering of competitiveness!
This year the Sea Creatures Theme has been creating great excitement amongst the Superyacht Crew; costumes are being discussed and designs drawn up.
The annual event attracts Superyacht crew based in Antigua at the beginning of February to gather teams of four to tackle the challenge of the B Y O B (Build Your Own Boat) Wobbly Club Race.
This year the two categories are Sail and Freestyle – only rule: no engines of any sort!
With this year’s theme of Sea Creatures, the prizes for 2015 include – most seaworthy sea creature, the sea creature with/without the most ballast problems, best dressed sea creature, sea creature with the most mussels, most legs, scariest sea monster, most scaly, best dressed shrimps, most loveable shark and many more!
Skippers briefing is at 1pm at The Cat Club, Falmouth Harbour, Antigua.
Judging starts at 4pm with ‘Concourse de Elegance’ followed by Wobbly Race at 4.30pm.
Drinks and Food are available all afternoon.
Competitors and supporters are kindly asked to support the event by not bringing along full boat coolers.
Sponsored by members of AYSS, Catamaran Marina, Newport Shipyard and Cambusa Restaurant with all funds raised donated to ABSAR – Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue service in Antigua.
Entry forms can be collected from the ABSAR walk-in center or Cat Club.
